Our home :)
Here is our front door from looking at it inside of course :)
Standing at the front door looking into the house... if you go straight you will walk into the living room. Stairs are to the right (as you can see)
Further to the right is a tatami room - a traditional Japanese room made with a soft straw flooring... we are using this room as our dining room
Oh why hello Haylen!!
From the living room we move on to the kitchen.
Our awesome refrigerator which I just found out has an area to store meats! The top part is the actual fridge part in the middle is the meat area along with the ice maker then the freezer and the bottom drawer is to store fruits and veggies. It also keeps track of how many times you have been in the fridge not sure why but still a neat feature!
View from the side door looking in. Also the "trap door" that Haylen is crawling on is a storage box. It is an airtight space used to keep things like drinks and canned foods stored. Ours is extremely hard to open so we won't be using it lol
View of the driveway and carport from the side door
Bet you can't tell what this room is
Do you give up yet? Ok I'll tell you... it's the toilet room! Unlike in the states the Japanese have their toilets separate from the shower. On top of the toilet is a spout. This is where you wash your hands after using the toilet. When you flush the (clean) water comes out the spout and then is used to refill the toilet bowl. Eco friendly but very weird to say the least. I have yet to wash my hands in this water because it scares me lol so I always go to the shower room to wash
The shower/laundry room
And now we head on upstairs. They are very tall and narrow and I've tripped about several times walking up them
Here is our room. We just got a new mattress and it is oh so amazing!!!!
Haylen's room :)
This is also another tatami room
The second toilet room
Haylen's playroom
I love these shelves! They are perfect for storing everything!!
We still don't have curtains for this window so we can watch our neighbors doing laundry (I took the pics kinda late in the afternoon so she was done already lol)
The spare bedroom or as I like to call it, Morgan's room :)
More shelves!
I would love to say that this is a traditional Japanese bed but the truth is we don't have the box spring yet lol
Last our balcony! We have yet to go out and enjoy it but as soon as the weather starts to warm up I see us spending a lot of time out there!
Well that's our home! Hope you enjoyed the tour!
I love that you are doing this blog. What a neat experience.
