I am so behind on my blog. I'm actually pretty embarrassed to be updating especially since this was back in April that we went. We spent the day at a cookout in Kikkou Park which is near the Kintai Bridge. So naturally we had to explore the area (after playing ball and eating some delicious Japanese cuisine). Sorry but most of the pictures are of Haylen. I can't help it she's just so cute!

She desperately wanted to go in the water with the other kids |

The beginning of the bridge |

Complete tourists who weren't thinking about all of the steps on the bridge... Poor Cody lol |

Such a beautiful view from the bridge |

This is the Iwakuni Castle which lies on top of Mt. Yokoyama. We didn't go up to it but will hopefully sometime soon |

The little goober loved going down steps in her stroller. She laughed hysterically the whole time |

A little shopping area with souvenirs, food and yummy ice cream! |

Yes it really tastes as good as it looks! |
So of course I will throw in a little information about the bridge :) The historical wooden bridge was originally built in 1673 and has 5 arches which spans across the Nishiki River. However, due to storms and floods the bridge has been rebuilt 3 times since. The first bridge lasted from 1673 to 1674. The second bridge lasted for 276 years before a typhoon washed it away. It was reconstructed by 1953 and then rebuilt in 1989.
A few more pictures of Kikkou Park and what I'm assuming is a small fort
